Weekly photo callenge : “Today”

Today, I think of you once again

what you were

what you meant

how I felt

the memories come

uncalled!

Today, I embrace them again

That’s all I have

left of you

left of me

left of what we used to be

Today, I wonder

Do they ever haunt you?

these bits from the past

Do you welcome them

savor them

Hoping they last

Today, I fear

these too may fade

leaving just a blank space

in their wake

Today, I don’t want to fall asleep

fearing the memories may bleed

lose their shine

I know its just a race against time

An eternal race, in which I am falling behind

But Today

safely Cocooned in “our” memories

I can rest

Today! I win this eternal race….
