About me

As my name suggests I am  a “dreamer”, an idealist at heart and dangerously sentimental. I am also a mom of two, a part-time business woman, a book – lover, a stand in  decorator for my restaurants, a movie buff,  a social worker by training, a die-hard optimist, a “people-lover” and a children’s counselor by profession. I have lived in boarding schools all my life and there are loads of treasured memories to share.

Considering my varied interests this blog is not about any one thing.  Someday its about a local news , at others about parenting, books I am reading, women’s issues, sometimes fiction, often poetry, anecdotes, once in a while haiku (I am experimenting;)) and travel… and ever so often it is about the the stuff I see happening around me – Mundane, everyday things that seems so ordinary that no one takes notice of them … But many of these seemingly commonplace occurrences hide messages and contain lessons to be learned. I believe they are warning calls that need to be heard.. wake up calls .. to each of us!

I am no writer rather a dabbler. More than writing, this blog is about connecting, finding new friends and having varied conversations. Feel free to look around here –  browse/ read/ rest/ poke/ comment/  agree/ disagree. It will give me the greatest pleasure to know you better. So drop in a line , tell me about you. Who you are, What you do, What you write/ read about, what are your dreams  and what you’re hoping to do or be?

See you around then

Sapna

P.S. – I have found much love from the wordpress community but since this blog was never about gaining recognition, this year on wards I am making it an ‘award free’ Blog. Your visits and comments are my best reward – Keep them coming 🙂

  5. A lovely ” About” description. I am intrigued in how you find the time and energy. I will assume you are young. I had the energy when I was young. I have enjoyed browsing and have signed up for updates. So nice to meet you through your posts.
    Namaste,

    1. I used to be younger Isadora! These days I just barely manage to fit it all in my plate 🙂 thanks for looking around! I find your name intriguing ! Will come over and read what it is about someday soon!!!

  6. You have a very interesting blog. I’ve seen you on Yay Words so I thought of stopping by here. I wanted to comment on your Aug. 24 post, but I couldn’t see the “leave a comment” sign. Your poem reminded me of a song. I’m not sure if you’ve heard it because if I’m not mistaken it’s an original Filipino pops song.. Here it goes:
    So let the pain
    remain forever in my heart
    for every throb it brings
is one more moment spent with you
    I’ll let the pain
    bring on the rain
    if that’s the only way
    to be with you again….
Before I get carried away… lol… I’d like to invite you to join the 2nd Haiku My Photo Challenge on my blog. Here’s the link http://blossomrain.blogspot.com/2012/08/the-2nd-haiku-my-photo-challenge.html
    Looking forward to your participation…
    Thanks,

    1. Thanks so much Christine for stopping by. love the lyrics of the song. never heard it before. It conveys what I was trying to say so beautifully. Will surely check out the challenge though I don’t have the discipline required for writing haiku. Love the form though! see you around!

We are redecorating our restaurants and i have been almost absent from the blog but I will be back soon. Will look you up! dont worry no pressure .

      1. Have fun with your restaurants!

You have an interesting blog running here. Loved some of your writings especially your poetry. Its very subtle . I guess I will be hanging around here a lot. 🙂

    1. hey prasad, thanks a lot for the thumbs up! Would love to have you around! I’ve been away from the blog last few months though I think a lot about getting back. hopefully for me, this phase will end soon and I can begin my conversations here once again. 🙂

      1. Prasad says:

Do end the dry phase. Would love to read more and hear a lot many wake up calls 🙂

      2. you have no idea how badly I want it to end too. But I’ve discovered writing is a moody friend, you ignore it for a while and it takes its time coming back 🙂

      3. Prasad says:

Lolz true…! 🙂 Thats the reason i dont want to go into hibernation though getting time out from the busy world of career is hard 😦

      4. I know what you mean. getting the time to write is a luxury in any case. But being unplugged has its own benefits. It gave me time to catch up on my sleep and the ‘revenge’ episodes I missed 🙂

      5. Prasad says:

Haha i won’t disagree on that though 😉

  17. Prasad says:

  20. Hemangini says:

Your name is beautiful. You spent your entire school like in boarding? Wow that must have been some experience. Maybe that gives you a bigger sense of independence then others… Nice introduction and wonderful poems in your blog.

    1. Thank you hemangini and welcome to JAWC 😊 ya I went to boarding school in 4th and from then on till masters was in a hostel . Boardinghouse are double edged – they make you independent in some ways but in a sense they also make you used to a very sheltered environment – far from the influence of the mundane regular world 😊
