Morning sun beams
awakening me from a dream
its giddy happiness
leaves me sad
A tap at the door
beckons me
I rush, only to let in
– the harsh wind
Its noisy greeting
mocks my eagerness
The shrill ring
of the telephone
promises conversations
the voice of a stranger
hushes the words in my throat
deepening my silence
Tuning the radio
a song from the past
floods me
the crowded memories
enhance
my solitude
Everyday
– every night
more deserted
more forlorn
the togetherness that was
makes me
lonelier
Finding
a soul-mate
brings bliss
but losing one
leaves me
even more desolate
Alone ! Solitary!
Only after loving and losing does one truly understand ‘lonely’. One who hasn’t loved though alone is never really ‘lonely’…..

Beautiful! Thanks for the pingback 🙂
my pleasure Malna. Thanks for the visit 🙂
It’s better to have loved and lost, then never loved at all. Heartbreak is tough. Recovery even tougher. As solitary as it feels, I wonder if we are ever truly alone, as we always have ourselves for comfort. 🙂
such a lovely thought! Its true we always have ourselves. And yes, I agree, better to love and lose than never love at all. Thanks Angelia for such wise words
Lovely poem to accompany a bitter-sweet photo. It’s a perfect response to the challenge, it seems to me.
Hugs,
Kathy
Thanks Kathryn! So honored you keep up with all the posts. I found the photograph in one of our holiday albums. One of those snapshots you don’t realize exist till you go rummaging for a challenge 🙂
Well I don’t know much about being in and out of a commitment sort of relation, but this is very true for close friendship.. Nice poem! 🙂
close friendships are commitments. BTW, this was for a close friend 🙂 glad you liked it Somesh
Evocative and perfectly fitting

Can’t believe you used this pic.. 😛 This is a result of a very bored me stuck in that 5 hour long jam at Rohtang Pass.. That’s one thing that you didn’t miss..!
its a beautiful photograph and now i know who to credit it to ! I’m glad i missed the jam
A very moving post. Indeed finding love is a joy but to loose one can be a painful experience but in the end it is still a gift that we were given a chance to feel what love and bliss means.
True !!! And yet there are so many who have been so hurt that they shut themselves off. deciding they won’t love again! Preferring to avoid the pain even if it means missing on the ‘bliss’ – Right?
This is touching and beautiful…
Thanks! and thanks for spending your time looking at the others too. All those stars make my day 🙂
