Verse I
shades of rust
claim me
– bidding adieu
Verse II
rusty I float away
green bud
farewell
Verse III
shades of red
the fire burns
eternally
Verse IV
green to rust
divine to dust
– life
Verse V
shades of red
claim me, smiling
I bid adieu
Haiku Heights is hosting an interesting haiku challenge! This post is inspired by the word for today – “Autumn”.
I like the third one the best 🙂 an eternal fire in the shades of the autumn leaves. Beautifully said, and welcome to the Heights, Sapna.
That was prompt! thanks Leo 🙂 I am new to Haiku, but absolutely love the contradictions in the form – the simplicity of its words ! and the depth of their meaning!
Your post came up during my haiku hop time. 🙂 So was prompt. If it was in morning, would be delayed till evening. Reading all the entries is no little task 😀 but trying my best 😉
If were to suggest, I’d say, go for a single type of alignment than the criss-cross. Makes better reading 😀 Have fun, and see you again soon.
I wanted the single alignment too. But for some reason it doesn’t work. The spaces I enter don’t stay and the different verses run into each other. It starts to look like one poem, and that just won’t do. Thus found this byway 😦
Nice look at the autumn of life.
thanks Patti for the visit and the encouragement
You make it seem easy to bid adieu. Is it?
My Lady Autumn
its heartbreaking! but its also the way of life. Acceptance is the key
read a book recently.. autumn in my heart.. now i think ‘autumn on my mind’ is way better. Maybe i’ll also try haiku someday. Nicely written 🙂
Ha ha 🙂 I think a bug in my mind is very cool!!! Haiku is fun! U must try it …. Thanks for the visit
I think ‘a bug in my mind’ is super cool 🙂

thanks for the pingback 🙂
Reminded me of “Ode to the west wind” by P.B. Shelley 🙂 Incidentally, it was taught by my Sinha sir in my 10th standard 🙂
such a btfl poem
“If Winter comes, can Spring be far behind?”
Sinha sir had an advantage! his subject was beautiful ! isn’t it?
Yeah it is! 🙂
