There was a time when moments spent apart felt like years
When the chatter was endless
Filling morns, noons and nights
Sleep felt like a fiend
That snatched away at precious time
Now years have slipped by without a word
Doesn’t the silence bother you ?
It stifles my heart and mind
Its dark hollow mouth stretches
Threatening to devour me
My only succour
Sleep – My new best friend!
I am participating in the Napowrimo-2017 . Today was day 11. Had a Really busy day with all kinds of crazy things happening and got no time to write. So brought out an old unpublished piece lying neglected in the drafts folder 🙂 hope you don’t mind the cheating 😉
